Artist Statment
Paul’s English Oils reflect a vivid accuracy in mood, tone and color, combining to bring a hauntingly reminiscent realism to his hunting and countryside scenes. The essence of Paul's appeal in this series is therefore mainly nostalgic. Many of his paintings recall The English Countryside, as it was around the turn of the century and preserves a record of the beauty for generations to come.
Paul has developed a love for the tropical beauty of Polynesia and the magnificent beauty of wildlife which is reflected in his recent paintings.
Biography
Born in 1953 in Essex, England, Paul Roberts received his education in Europe specializing in Realism, Italian Plaster, Faux Finishing, and Olde English Beams. He has been creating beautiful Custom Murals and Original Oils on Canvas, with his own unique style for more than 3 decades.
An accomplished oil and mural artist with a wide range of residential and commercial clients, his talent speaks for itself and his work can be found throughout California and Europe. Paul's Murals and Oils have been shown in magazine publications and newspapers. Paul has also enjoyed some recent television exposure, one of his murals was seen and discussed during a feature on the Oprah Winfrey show. Paul's work was also used in the movie Elvis and Me. Locally his works have been viewed on the outdoor channel in Temecula, California.
